The NELUNE Foundation Write for Life
Competition The Sunday Telegraph is the country's most inspirational writing
competition.
The NSW-based competition is aimed at
raising awareness for the NELUNE Foundation and the services it provides.
The NELUNE Foundation is a not-for-profit
charity that helps patients fight cancer with dignity by providing practical
support, assistance and care for public hospital and underprivileged cancer
patients in the community.
More than 1700 entries were received in the inaugural 2010 competition which
encouraged budding writers, published authors and
people, simply with an inspiring story to share, to
capture the essence of this year's
theme - 'Generosity of Spirit'. Generosity can come in many forms including
physical, emotional, financial and spiritual - an inner commitment, strength and
approach to life..
The adults' winner (16 years and over) for
articles of a maximum 800 words was judged by bestselling Australian author,
Matthew Reilly, who has sold in excess of 3.5 million copies of his books
worldwide. The winner receives a signed copy of Mr Reilly's book, 'The Five
Greatest Warriors'.
The children's winner (up to 16
years) for articles of a maximum 400 words was judged by the Hon.
Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia and recent children's story book author.
The winner and two runners up each receive a signed copy of Mr Rudd's book,
'Jasper & Abby And The Great Australia Day
Kerfuffle'.
