100% of all donations is distributed directly to cancer patient care and, to date, many hundreds of patients have benefited from the NELUNE Foundation.

The Foundation currently supports Young Adult Cancer Patient Services at Prince of Wales Public Hospital Randwick and adults in the Oncology Units at St Vincent's Public Hospital Darlinghurst, St George Hospital Kogarah, Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre Campbelltown, Sutherland Hospital Caringbah and public hospitals in the Greater Western Area Health Service which include the Orange Base Hospital and Bathurst Public Hospital.

With the continuing support of the community and like-minded organisations, the NELUNE Foundation aims to further expand services to regional NSW, Victoria and Queensland in order to offer equality of care and support to all Australian cancer patients.

WHAT WE DO

Cancer patients, their families and supporters bring many attributes to the cancer journey - personal strengths, abilities and resources to name a few. There are times when extra support is needed.

Whether you are a young person or an adult who is recently diagnosed, undergoing treatment or returning home, a family member or support person, the NELUNE Foundation provides services including transport, professional psychological support, cancer care co-ordinators and post operative medical aids.

By delivering specialised cancer counselling and support, the NELUNE Foundation aims to alleviate the challenges cancer patients and their families experience throughout the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and beyond.

The Foundation currently funds the following:

• A team of Clinical Psychologists at St Vincent's Public Hospital Darlinghurst, Macarthur Cancer Therapy Centre Campbelltown, Sutherland Hospital Caringbah, Young Adult Cancer Patient Services at Prince of Wales Public Hospital Randwick and public hospitals in the Greater Western Area Health Service which include the Orange Base Hospital and Bathurst Public Hospital
• A Cancer Care Co-ordinator covering the regions of Temora, Young, Wagga, Cootamundra and outer Canberra areas
• A Brain Tumour Nurse at St Vincent's Public Hospital Darlinghurst and Sydney Children's Hospital Randwick
• A Cancer Care Nurse in Young Adult Cancer Patient Services at Prince of Wales Hospital Randwick
• A Patient Transport Vehicle to assist cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatment at St Vincent's Public Hospital Darlinghurst, Prince of Wales Public Hospital Randwick, St George Public Hospital Kogarah and Sutherland Public Hospital Caringbah - See Contact Us
• Dietary supplements and practical aids including colostomy bags, walking frames, wigs, prostheses and lymphedema sleeves for underprivileged cancer patients

YOUNG ADULT CANCER PATIENT SERVICES

The NELUNE Foundation is providing much-needed funding for Young Adult Cancer Patient Services at Prince of Wales Public Hospital Randwick.

The Foundation is funding the positions of Cancer Care Nurse, Social Worker and Clinical Psychologist.

Young adults have special physical and psychosocial needs that are unique, broader in scope and often more intense than those needs arising at any other time in life and cancer therapy can cause practical problems in social areas.

Cancer is one of the leading causes of deaths in young adults with survival rates having reportedly remained unchanged over the last 20 years.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

Whilst the NELUNE Foundation has been successful in raising funds, please understand that our funds are limited and we are unable to respond to individual requests of financial support. The NELUNE Foundation was established to provide emotional and practical support to cancer patients. We do this best by:

1. Providing emotional support through our Clinical    Psychologists and Cancer Care Nurses
2. Giving practical support by providing medical aids that are not funded by medical or government funds. To ensure we stay focussed on our goals, the NELUNE Foundation cannot provide financial assistance to individual requests including hospital charges, living expenses, travel expenses or other day-to-day expenses.
